Kasargod: Border cultural festival held at Kerala – Kondevoor

Kasargod, Jun 15: The border cultural festival was held by Karnataka border development authority and Nithyananda Mahapeetam Charitable trust Kondevoor at Kondevoor Nithyananda Yogashram auditorium.

The programme held in the presence of Yogananda Saraswati Swamiji was presided over by the president of the authority, Dr C Somashekar and inaugurated by Mangaluru university vice chancellor Dr S Yadapadithaya.

President of Kerala region Kannada teachers association Srinivas Rao was the chief guest. Karnataka Vidhan Parishat former member Monappa Bhandary, Karnataka state working journalist’s association Kasargod district president A R Subbayyakatte and artist G N Swamy Bengaluru were present as the guests of honour. Veteran social activist Meenaru Vishwanath Alva and author and journalist Radhakrishna K Uliathadka were felicitated considering their services.

The programme began after the group song by female students of Kondevoor Sadguru Nithyananda Vidyapeeta. Dr Jayaprakash Narayana Thottethodi welcomed. Meera Alva and Arvindaksha Bhandary compered the programme. Dinaker Hosangadi rendered a vote of thanks.

The guests were welcomed in grand procession consisting of Yakshagana costumes, attractive dances by Lohith Kumar and team of Basaveshwara Raitha Yuvaka Sangha to the beating of drums, dances by Mulleri resident Bindu Sridhar and team. Kondevoor school children performed attractive Yogachap.
