Chikkaballapur, Jun 16: Health and Family Welfare Minister Dr K Sudhakar has on Thursday praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for fulfilling the Mahatma Gandhi’s dream of making Grama Swaraj a reality.

Participating in a series of developmental programmes in Chikkaballapur district on Thursday, Dr Sudhakar said the initiatives of Modi government in propagating the concept of cleanliness, sanitation and healthcare throughout the country through various initiatives.

Under Modi’s initiatives, over 10 crore toilets have been built across India as part of the Swatch Bharat Mission and steps are also being taken to install solid waste disposal units, Dr Sudhakar said.

The minister said the State and Union governments were giving priority for irrigation, road development and other infrastructure projects while potable piped drinking water is being supplied to all households, especially in rural areas under Jaljeevan Mission.
