Mangalore, Mar 22: In an accident that occurred between a motor bike moving towards Yedapadav from Moodbidri and a tanker that was headed for Mijar from Yedapadav on Monday March 21 evening, the pillion rider died on the spot.
The accident occurred at Baitari near Mijar. The deceased has been identified as Rohit Shetty (25), son of Narayan Shetty, a resident of Mijar Derejal.
Taranath Shetty, his friend, was riding the motor bike. Rohit operated a shop dealing in provisions at Urki. The motor bike rider, who sustained serious injuries, was admitted into a hospital in the city for treatment.
