Mangaluru, Jul 8: The anti-Surathkal Toll Gate Committee has decided to gherao the toll gate as the NHAI, MP and MLA have failed to remove the Suratkal toll gate despite repeated appeals by the public.
A meeting of anti-Surathkal toll gate organizations was held on July 6 at Suratkal and a decision was taken to gherao the gate during the end of July.
The local MLA and MP were accused of allowing the toll collection at the Surathkal toll gate even after the deadline.
Vasant Bernad presided over the meeting. Convener Munir Katipalla, leaders of various organizations like Raghavendra Rao, Moosabba Pakshikere, lawyer Dinesh Hegde, Pratibha Kulai and others were present.
