Bantwal: MLA Rajesh Naik holds meeting with officials over precautions for natural calamities

Bantwal, Jul 8: MLA Rajesh Naik Ulipadiguthu held a meeting with taluk level officials at his office on Thursday July 7 over precautions under natural calamities to be taken in the taluk. He said that officials in all the departments in the taluk should work in coordination to solve the problems that are likely to occur during the monsoon.

Obtaining details of the incident that happened at Panjikallu, Bantwal, he directed tahsildar Dr Smita Ramu to take precautions so that such incidents do not happen in any part of the taluk. He said that if the rain damage poses risk to the lives of residents, such families should be shifted to places that are safe and suitable facilities should be provided to them.

He obtained information about the flood situation from tahsildar Smita Ramu and said that people living in low areas should take care and suitable arrangements should be made for them during floods.

“The department of forests and Mescom should together cut roadside trees if they are posing danger to Mescom light poles and public property. Make sure that rain water flows freely to storm water drains on rural roads and other places,” he said.

He said that a meeting of the gram panchayat president, vice president, PDO, revenue inspector, village accountant and the police officials will be held in order to make the task force to respond quickly to problems being faced in the monsoon.
