Kundapur: Severe sea erosion at Maravanthe – More than 100 coconut trees washed away

Kundapur, Jul 9: Favourite picnic spot Maravanthe is experiencing severe sea erosion. Nearby residents are facing fear of collapse of houses.

Sea is violently rushing towards the shores and eating up more land area. More than 100 coconut trees are already washed away into the sea. Residents are placing temporary sand bags themselves to prevent more damage as the administration has failed to come up with any concrete plan.

Fishermen community which lives in large numbers near the sea are cursing the government for not responding to their woes. MLA Sukumar Shetty and MP B Y Raghavendra visited the spot.
