Udupi: Konkan railway employee dies on duty

Udupi, Jul 10: Mangaldas Naik (51), who was employed with Konkan Railway, fell ill on the train itself when he was discharging his duties and died.

Mangaldas was discharging his duties on Netravati Express train on July 8. At around 3.20 am, he felt extremely tired and also excruciating pain in his hand. He informed the same to his colleague Vivek R Gavas and went to take rest on the running train itself.

The train reached Indrali railway station at 4.30 am. When Vivek checked on Mangaldas he was unconscious. He was rushed to Manipal hospital where the doctors declared him brought dead.

A case in this connection is registered in Manipal police station.
