Bantwal, Jul 11: Problems due to natural disasters are felt here at several places due to heavy rain pounding the taluk during the last 12 days.

Former minister B Ramanath Rai visited the landslides and damaged houses at Arala, Kavalapadur, Kadabettu, Moodanadugodu, Kavalamudoor, Panjikallu gramas and Goodinabali in Bantwal municipal council limits.

He spoke to the deputy commissioner Dr K V Rajendra over the phone and urged to give priority for suitable compensation and safety.

Former district panchayat member Padmashekar Jain, Bantwal block Congress president Baby Kunder and others were present.
