Bantwal: Huge tree falls on house – Three people escape unhurt

Bantwal, Jul 15: A huge uprooted tree fell on a house at Kodaje, Mani Mysuru state highway on Friday July 15. Three people who were sleeping in the house escaped unhurt.

The tree fell on the house belonging to Sanjiva Shetty, at the dangerous curve of Kodaje. This has caused a huge loss. Three labourers sleeping in the house had a miraculous escape.

The huge tree fell at about 3.30 am. A coconut tree broke in the impact. As the branches of the tree occupied the highway, traffic was obstructed for some time.

Mani gram panchayat member, Panemangalore Congress president Sudeep Kumar Shetty visited the spot and helped to vacate the tree along with locals.

The roof of the house, wall and sit out of the house was severely damaged in the incident causing loss of several lacs. Revenue officials visited the spot and conducted inspection.
