Bantwal, Jul 15: A huge Mayflower tree fell on a Maruti 800 car and an auto rickshaw parked beside the road at B C Road on Friday, July 15. The tree in the premises of the department of horticulture near Annapoorneshwari temple in the heart of Bantwal fell in the heavy rain and breeze with its roots.

As there were no passengers in the vehicles, there were no casualties. Traffic was disrupted as the tree fell on Kaikunje road. However, social worker, proprietor of Vijayalaxmi company, Raghavendra Nayak got the tree vacated within a few hours and made way for traffic.

Traffic SI Murthi visited the spot and regulated the traffic.
