Mangaluru, Jul 29: MLA UT Khader on Friday July 29, stressed on the need of maintaining law and order owing to the latest events of killings and chaotic clashes that have sparked unrest among the public and fear prevails far across.

He said that the past 10 days have seen unforeseen events, where in, three youths have lost their lives to religious uprising. He indicated that these horrific incidents have sent a chill down the spine.

The Dakshina Kannada and coastal areas have been defamed. He ascertained that it was a dutiful responsibility relying on the shoulders of the police and government and that they had to conduct a detailed enquiry onto this matter as the matter was the need of the hour.

Further he added that they government was supposed to utilize its various agencies and destined forces to bring an end to all of this and to establish peace and order in the society, which was pre requisite.

“The MLAs in and from outside the district have to some extent added to the difficult times and have made it only worse. Their remarks have sparked instigation and a chaotic scenario has dwelled across. I humbly request you to refrain from giving out any demurring and disrespectful statements or comments as it does more harm than good and has led to clashes and chaos which have adopted undemocratic means. The State government and the chief minister have a pivotal role at this crucial time. It is absurd to find that the action taken by them differs, he said.

He discussed the case of Praveen, who was murdered in the times of such clashes and outrages. He said that the plight of the family members was indescribable as they were still in mourning. “The grief would not lessen no matter what. All they wish for is justice to be given. But the question is who must be held responsible for all these happenings? The root cause leads to the ineffective action taken by the government. They must responsibly offer the same compensation to the bereaved families and that has not been the case since it is quite visible,” he added.

He opined that these instances only prove that the government was apprehensive of the vote counts, and feared that any action could trigger an unexpected outcome.

“We are emphasizing that the accused must be taken into custody and investigation should reach to the root of the case. They should catch hold of the real culprit and ensure that he is punished for the heinous crime,” he said in a form tone.

He also added that peace would prosper only if law and order was enforced. He advised that the government had to adopt the valuable principles of great ideals such as Basavanna and B R Ambedkar into their governance rather than adopting the models of Uttar Pradesh or Gujarat.
