Bengaluru, Jul 29: The State Industries Department on Friday approved 61 industrial projects with investment worth Rs 3829.46 crore that would generate job opportunities of over 19,510 persons.
In a meeting held at the Karnataka Udyog Mitra office, approval was given to investment proposals of many companies including Toyota Kirloskar and Micron Technology.
The 133rd State Level Single Window Clearance Committee (SLSWCC) meeting was held under the chairmanship of Murugesh R Nirani, Minister for Large and Medium Scale Industries, who cleared the projects.
The committee has considered and approved 13 important large and medium size industrial projects with investments of more than Rs 50 crore. These projects worth Rs 2979.35 are expected to create employment opportunities for 16158 persons in the state.
At the 133rd SLSWCC meeting, 42 new projects with investments of more than Rs 15 crore and less than Rs 50 crore were also cleared. These projects worth Rs 774.51 crore would generate jobs for 3352 people in the State.
Another 6 projects of additional investment have been approved. This will result in an investment of Rs 75.60 crore.
Dr E V Ramana Reddy, Additional Chief Secretary, Commerce, and Industries, Department of Electronics, Information Technology, Biotechnology, Science & Technology, Gunjan Krishna, Commissioner for Industrial Development, and Director of Industries and Commerce, Dr N Shivshankar, CEO, KIADB, Doddabasavaraju, Managing Director, Karnataka Udyog Mitra Bengaluru, and other senior officers were present.
