Election Commission allows 17 yrs+ youths to register in advance for voters' list

Mangaluru, July 29: The government has decided to bring changes to the Representation of People’s Act 1950, Section 14(b) and under Section 23 of Registration of Electors Rules, 1960.

The Indian government has decided to bring changes to the voters' list of Vidhana Sabha and Lok Sabha electoral list.

The election commission has a provision that allows four chances for enrollment into the voters list in a year.

The electoral reforms and its prominent points are as below:

More opportunities to the youth to get enrolled on voters' list.

People have four opportunities to enroll for the voters' list in a year.

Youths who are in the age of 17+ have the opportunity to file the application.

The applications are available from August 1, 2022.

The review of the voters' list will start in the month of August.

This will be implemented from August 1.

People can enroll their names four times including from April 1, July 1, and October 1 and January 1.
