Madikeri: Hindu activists hold protest to clear cases of rowdyism

Madikeri, Jul 30: Hundreds of Hindu activists marched from General Timmiah Circle to SP office urging to withdraw rowdysheeter cases slapped on them.

As precaution heavy police presence was there in the town. SP M A Aiyappa himself was on the field. Speaking to the activists Vinay, convener of HJV of district said, “If police are behaving in one manner in various police stations, Kushalnagar CI is behaving in a different manner. That is why we have gheraoed the SP office.

“Instead of taking action against us, who hold protests according to the constitution, police should initiate action against those who bomb police stations and put fire to houses. Our organization has taught us culture.

“Kushalnagar CI is following different set of laws for Hindus and Muslims. Goonda act is slapped on those who save cows," he said.

After district incharge minister B C Nagesh assured the protesters that the CI will be transferred, they called off the protest.
