Mangaluru: Annual feast of Bondel St Lawrence Church to be celebrated on Aug 10

Mangaluru, Jul 30: The Annual Feast of St Lawrence Church, Bondel will be celebrated on August 10. The nine-day novena prior to the annual feast of St Lawrence Church, Bondel will begin on Monday, August 1. From Augist 1-9 daily two Masses will be offered for all the devotees morning at 10.30 am and 5.30 pm.

On August 1, there will be unfurling of St Lawrence’s flag at the church premises at 10.00 am. Rohan Monteiro, founder and chairman of Rohan Corporation, will be hoisting the flag. Fr Rupesh Tauro assistant director, St Anthony Ashram will be celebrating the Mass.

The festal Mass on August 10 at 10:30 am will be presided over by Dr Francis Serrao, bishop, diocese of Shivmoga and at 6:00 pm will be presided over by Fr Maxim Noronha, vicar general, Mangalore diocese. 

On all the days of devotion this year, starting from August 1 and ending with the feast on August 10, devotees will be offered lunch and blessed bread in the evenings. Devotees across the city who come to the shrine with great faith and they pray for in-depth gift of faith in the shrine. ‘HoreKanike’(offertory ) procession will be held on Sunday, July 31 at 3.00 pm starting from Mount Carmel Central School to St Lawrence Church.

During the novena’s all the church programmes will be conducted by Fr Andrew Leo D’Souza. parish priest St Lawrence Church and Prakash Pinto, convener shrine committee.

All devotees are cordially invited to the annual feast which will be held on Wednesday August 10 at 10.30 am and evening at 5.30 pm.
