Tumkur University confers honorary doctorate to Yadugiri Math Seer

Bengaluru, Jul 30: The Tumkur University conferred the Honorary Doctorate to the Yadugiri Yatiraj Math seer Sri Yadugiri Yatiraj Narayan Jear Swamiji at a function held in Chowdaiah Memorial Hall in Bengaluru on Saturday.

The Honorary Doctorate was conferred by the State Governor Thawar Chand Gehlot, who is also the Chancellor, in the presence of Higher Education Minister Dr C N Ashwath Narayan, Pro-Chancellor.

Dr Narayan, in his speech, praised the service and contribution of the Swamiji and said he was propagating the teachings of equality and moral awakening. The Swamiji has also adopted the Tondanur School under the Ramanuja Integrated Development Programme.

The minister said the Swamiji was instrumental in establishing a statue of Ramanujacharya in Kashmir and would be installing a statue in Malleswaram soon.

Prof Venkateshwaralu and Prof Nirmal Raju were present at the function.
