Mangaluru: Third day novena prior to feast of St Lawrence held at Bondel Church

Mangaluru, Aug 3: Theme of third day of novena was "Love is the Joy of family life." Fr Joseph Martis parish priest, Derebail Church was the main celebrant and Fr Andrew Leo D’souza, Fr Gregory Pinto were concelebrants .

Fr Joseph Martis called on the devotees of St Lawrence “In Eph. 5:25, Paul said, “Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church.” He then explained how Christ showed this love. Paul said that Christ “gave himself for” the church.

 

He sacrificed himself on the cross. This love therefore is a self-sacrificial love. It is a self-sacrificial love that is rooted on the cross. Three acts of marriage first, marriage is giving sacrificial love, second marriage is seeking your happiness. third, and last, marriage is seeking your happiness in her happiness.

The 10.30 am mass choir was from Infant Jesus Shrine under the leadership of Simon. 5.00 pm mass offered by Fr Vinod Lobo asst parish priest Rosario Cathedral. The choir was from Milagres Parish.

During the mass prayers were offered for the married couples.
