Bengaluru: Drugs worth Rs 1.6 cr seized, two men including one of Bantwal origin held

Bengaluru, Aug 4: Begur police arrested two men including a YouTube channel artiste on the accusation of involving in narcotic drug business.

Ashrique, native of Bantwal and Cheepag of Kerala origin, are the arrested. DCP C K Baba said that 2.60 kg Hashish worth Rs 1.60 crore in the market is confiscated from them.

Police got a tip off that the duo is selling drugs on Begur-Koppa road. They went in civil dress and took the accused into custody. The accused had bought a building on rent at Madiwala on the pretext of running paying guest accommodation. In addition, they were also saying that they are into YouTube channel artiste management business.

Sleuths informed that the duo used to buy drugs from peddlers of Andhra Pradesh and make them into small packets and sell for profit to software engineers, entrepreneurs and college students.
