Karkala: Car Nosedives into Ravine – Woman Dies, Seven Injured

Karkala, Apr 12: After a car jumped into a ravine that is about a hundred feet deep in Mala village in the taluk on Monday April 11, a woman died, while seven other inmates of the car suffered injuries of various degrees. All the injured were admitted into hospitals.

Aminabi (60) from Kaup died on account of injuries suffered in the said accident on Monday evening in a hospital. Amir (32) and Ryan (10) were admitted into a hospital in Mangalore, while Illyas (34), who was driving the car, Arlika (35), Rahmath (36), Aisha (5) and Shahil (2) are being treated in a private hospital in Udupi.

Several relatives had together undertaken a trip to the Dargah located in Annigeri in Dharwad district. On their way back to their village, the driver suddenly lost control over the vehicle when negotiating a bend at Mulloor Ghat in Mala village. As a result, the car jumped into a ravine, it is gathered.
