Kadaba, Sep 14: Kadaba police on Tuesday, September 13 arrested Rukmaiah of Kombaru village on charges of sexual assault and cause for pregnancy of a young woman.

The 17-year-old victim is a relative of the accused. Rukmaiah has five children and had hired a young caretaker woman to look after his children three years ago. The young woman was staying with Rukmaiah's family in his house. In February, Rukmaiah was involved in a sexual act with the woman and had warned of dire consequences including throwing her out from his house if she revealed what had happened between them. The young woman had silently suffered the ordeal and the accused threatened her four-five times and indulged in sex.

When ASHA workers grew suspicious and confronted the young woman, her pregnancy came to light. Based on the complaint filed by the woman, Kadaba police arrested the accused who has also been produced before a court.
