Daijiworld Media Network - Udupi (SP)

Udupi, Jun 1: "We will get views and opinions from experts in the field. We are also considering a proposal to lift the sunken 'Suvarna Tribhuja' fishing boat from the bottom of the sea with the support of Indian Navy and the government," said district superintendent of police (SP), Nisha James.

She gave this information during the phone-in programme held at the office of the SP on Friday May 31.

She said that teams of police from here had been sent to parts of Kerala, Maharashtra, and Goa to verify whether any case pertaining to this matter was registered there but this effort could not unearth any additional information. Therefore, she said, the department proposes to get opinion of experts before moving forward.

If retrievable it would be great to return bodies to family members. But if Govt is thinking of spending big money without results, then you might as well give that money to families of those missing fishermen. At least families can continue to live and educate children. We can not even imagine plight of the family members of these missing fishermen.
