Induction and orientation program for first year degree students held at Milagres College

Mangaluru, Jul 28: The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of Milagres College organized an orientation program for undergraduate students and their parents on July 28 to mark the commencement of the academic year 2025–26.

The program was presided over by Fr Bonaventure Nazareth, correspondent of the Milagres Educational Institution. In his address, he emphasized the importance of imparting moral values through education and highlighted the collaborative role of teachers and parents in shaping responsible citizens. “Our younger generation possesses the strength to address the shortcomings of society,” he remarked.

Vijayalakshmi, president of the Parent-Teacher Association (PTA), extended her best wishes to the new students and encouraged active engagement between parents and the institution.

The orientation session featured Dr Preethi Keerthi D’Souza, chairperson and associate professor, Department of Commerce at Mangalore University, as the resource person. She offered valuable guidance and motivation to the students as they embarked on their academic journey.

Dr Michael L Santhumayor, principal of Milagres College, provided an overview of the college’s vision, academic structure, and support systems available to students.

Also present on the occasion were Prof Sowmya Kotyan, PTA coordinator, and Tressy Pinto, student welfare officer, who emphasized the importance of holistic student development.

The program was compered by student Floyd, who efficiently conducted the proceedings of the event.
