Canada, Aug 18: During this year of Faith for Catholics worldwide, in deep gratitude for the unwavering support and spiritual comfort that the clergy of Indian community (Goan, Mangalorean, East Indian and Anglo-Indian) provide in the Archdiocese of Toronto, the renowned Canadian Goan Christian Group (CGCG) under the dynamic leadership of Dr Colin Saldanha is hosting an event to both recognize the clergy and to encourage vocations in the community with a tribute.
'A Tribute to Our Clergy' program will be held on November 9 this year.
The highlight of the event will be a special Eucharistic celebration with Thomas Cardinal Collins and all the priests in attendance as concelebrants, to be held at 10 am on Saturday November 9, 2013 at St Joseph's Church, 5440 Durie Road, Mississauga, Ontario followed by a reception at St Joseph's Secondary School,5555 Creditview Road, Mississauga. The cost of the ticket for the reception is $10 prior to September 30 and $15 after September 30.
Speaking to Daijiworld in Canada, Gilbert D’Souza, one of the active members of CGCG said. "Our priests provide a great service to their parishioners and the community and ask for nothing in return. We are confident that the Indian community in Toronto will take advantage of this unique opportunity to recognize the contribution and dedication of our clergy, support and encourage vocations, and acknowledge and appreciate the tremendous service they provide to our community."
He further requested to the community members to sell tickets to as many relatives an friends in order to make this event a thrilling success.
