New Delhi: World Goa day celebrated by 'Goenkarancho Ekvot'

New Delhi, Aug 31: The World Goa day was recently celebrated by Goenkarancho Ekvot to promote the Konkani Language, which is Goa’s native language.

On this occasion the Konkani drama ‘Aao Jao Goa Tumhara’ was staged at Fr Agnel’s school auditorium in the presence of people who admire the language and members from other Konkani Organizations at New Delhi.

Oscar Fernandes, minister for roads and highways for the government of India was the chief guest for the event. He also appreciated the laudable efforts undertaken by 'Goenkarancho Ekvot' to promote the Konkani language and represent Konkani people at a national platform.

Oscar Fernandes felicitated Eknath Naik the director of the play and Prince Jacob, writer and president of Tiatre academy at Goa who was also the guest of honor.

The Archbishop of Delhi Anil Couto also graced the occasion along with the other dignitaries.

The function was attended and cherished by Konkani natives residing at New Delhi and other adjoining states.
