Court case filed against Priyanka Gandhi in Bihar

Patna, May 7 (IANS): A court case was filed against Priyanka Gandhi Wednesday for her remarks on BJP's prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi, terming his speech in Amethi as "neech rajniti" (low level politics).

The case was filed by a BJP leader.

"I have filed a case in Patna civil court against Priyanka Gandhi for insulting and hurting the sentiments of the lower castes," Surajnandan Kushwaha said.

Priyanka Gandhi, the daughter of Congress chief Sonia Gandhi, Monday said Modi had insulted her "martyred" father Rajiv Gandhi, and that the Congress booth workers in Amethi would give a befitting reply to his "low-level politics".

"They have insulted my martyred father on the soil of Amethi. People of Amethi will never forgive them for this wrong act. My workers at booths will reply to this despicable politics. Each and every booth of Amethi will give a reply," Priyanka Gandhi had said.

Former prime minister Rajiv Gandhi had represented Amethi in parliament.

In his speech in Amethi Monday, Modi had attacked the Gandhis and accused the Congress of "arrogance".

He said Rajiv Gandhi, when he was a Congress office bearer, had "humiliated" the then Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister T. Anjaiah at an airport. Anjaiah was chief minister 1980-82.

    Dear RSRB
    One should use commonsense and logical when there is diff.of opinion
    1. Court said BCCI Shrinivasan to step down as he may try to protect son-in law is by use of power but MODI/Amith shah still continued in power even after Vajapayee said them to step down. Definetly they used the power destroy evidence.
    2. Telling sorry after insulting /killing the people wont serve the purpose.

    Thanks for the clarification & taken in right spirit. I hope you too take the things in right spirit by reading my comment below:

    (a) it seems only you know the value of Vajapayee... a great person. But when he wanted a vote in year 2004, did you give? I do not think so.... just because he has RSS background

    (b) BJP ensured Yeddyurappa steps down. But did you any day appreciated the stand of central leadership of BJP? No... Why? With this, we have lost an opportunity to motivate the political parties who take harsh decision on its own politically strong CM. Demotivated BJP braught back Yeddi intoits fold. If BJP would have won without Yeddy, today Yeddy would have been going to the same rice mill where he was a clerk.

    (c) Telling sorry is no value? My dear friend, if that is the case, all of us should have been jail or hanged. Repenting & telling sorry and not repeating the same is to be considere as better nature. Not making the mistake of course is the best.

    That is really good - a future Indian PM with a western and a muslim name - Bianca Khan. She will then be a 'Christian-Muslim' nationalist.
    True spirit of a united secular India !
    Whats the problem with that ? You have a Christian US President who is the son of a Kenyan Muslim Father and an American Christian Mother with the name 'Barak Hussein Obama'.

    Mothilal Nehru,Jawaharlal Nehru,
    Indira Nehru,Rajeev Nehru and now Priyanka Nehru. Her gggf,ggf were freedom fighters.Her ggf,gm and father were holding the PM,s chair.
    Her gm and father have sacrificed their life for this country.What is the speciality they carry with 'Gandhi' surname.What privileges do the family members of Gandhi have? has any one of them played role in Indian politics?
    Why the stupid Indians(as mentioned
    by you ,cos you too are one among them)do not get apeased or fooled by MEnaka and Varun who too carry the Gandhi surname.
    Finaly tell me where do you stand? What have you done to your country ?Forget before pointing out fingers at others recollect at least what is your contribution to the welfare of your family, neighbor, friends, work place or at least to be a model citizen.

    I still can not understand how can Rajiv Gandhi be a 'martyr"!
    A soldier in action, a policeman controlling the riots, Anti naxal squad man in ambush, even a firefighter on duty ... is losing his life on duty, it can be considered as martyrdom. If Rajiv Gandhi is termed as a martyr, allthose victims of bomb blasts are martyrs.

    I remember an arch built across a road in DK in memory of a software engineer who was killed on aircraft attack on WTC prefixing his name with martyr (Huthathma).

    Simple logic, every accidental death or assassination can not be termed as martyrdom.
