Brazilian president congratulates Modi


New Delhi, May 23 (IANS): President of Brazil Dilma Rousseff called Prime Minister-designate Narendra Modi and congratulated him on his astounding victory in the recent general elections, it was reported Friday.

Rousseff also conveyed best wishes to Modi on behalf of the people of Brazil and said that Brazil would provide great support in further strengthening of bilateral relations, according to a statement issued by the Gujarat government. 

The Brazilian president expressed the hope that India and Brazil would work together on various international forums. 

Looking forward to receive Modi at the BRICS Summit in July at Fortaleza in northeastern Brazil, the president said that the summit would provide an excellent opportunity to share and exchange views.
