No information from Switzerland on black money: Jaitley

New Delhi, June 23 (IANS): Finance Minister Arun Jaitley Monday said Swiss authorities have not shared any information or given an assurance on sharing details about Indian account holders in Swiss banks, where a major portion of the black money is supposed to be stashed away.

"We have till now not received any information regarding the black money accounts from the Swiss authorities,” Jaitley told reporters. 

The finance minister was reacting to a media report that said Swiss authorities have agreed to share the details of Indian account holders. 

Jaitley said there is no official communication so far, and the Indian authorities will send a request to the Swiss authorities for sharing the information. 

"Our communication will be sent today itself,” Jaitley told reporters outside his North Block office.

    Is there a way to take NDA(BJP) to court for DEFAMATION, FALSE PROMISES, and the like.

    Being seasoned politicians and able administrators, they surely knew they legally can't seek swiss account info, yet they drew the blood out of UPA.

    By their present act, it is clear that FRIENDS and FAMILY of BJP is filling pages of the list, yet they misled the public to believe that it is Gandhi family and their cronies who are in the list, so cheating the people and defamation.

    Since all public utterances are printed, recorded, i think it makes a viable case to take them to court, individually and as a party.

    It will be a worthy investment by the public, so that in future, no body misguides the voter and get us to commit a national crime - as this one, that is for acche din, voting a corrupt party to power.

    UPA became corrupt after assuming government, NDA is corrupt before assuming government.

    Corruption is not merely taking money under the table(now it is different means), corruption is also 'illegal means of acquiring wealth, position and power'.

    Dare you BJP supporters, say that your leaders are not corrupt (in thoughts, deeds and actions).

    You may be not answerable to others, but you are answerable to your concience.
    There is no fault supporting the party of our choice, so support BJP. But corrupt means of winning elections, and supporting such corrupt agenda is a crime on the nation.

That is why Prime Minister is very busy in raising the prices of all basic commodities, he is having round the clock meetings with his ministers to discuss how to repay the loan taken during election from Ambanis and so many other business people!!!!!

    I remember watching one video ( talk) given by one of the noted BJP leader Mr.soolibeble. stating that if we get the money out of Swiss bank, we can construct the roads by gold allover India and he had promised that Once the BJP govt. win the LS election, they will get back BM from Swiss bank?

    Now how come they are not able to get the name of the BM account holders?
    Some our DW readers were aware that most pof the Gandhi siblings have the account in Swiss bank. when they know the info, why cant they take a action on them?

    This is a joke played by the BJP on gullible Indians.

    There will be no list or any information that will be provided by the Swiss Banks to Indian Government ever, period. Jaitley knows it well so does Modi, this is a drama and joke they are doing on all of you who trust them.

    US forced the swiss banks to reveal secret accounts becuase, swiss banks operate in the US and the US government threatened them with legal action under tax evasion. Swiss banks do not operate in India do Indian government has 0 leverage on them to force them to reveal anything. So this is a April fools joke on your people.

    Justice Shah will enjoy the cabinet minister benefits and enjoy his perks for 6 months and the committee will be closed after that.

    Before getting black money from swiss accounts, get the black money in India first, it is much more.

    I remember the days of Janata Govt of 1978 who had promised so many good things for the people but perished like pack of cards. I too had supported them against Congress but later was disappointed. Same thing is happening now. When UPA was in power BJP was making noise about corruption, price rise, black money etc on daily basis but now they are failing in all fronts. I feel that UPA was better than this Govt. It seems the fate of Janata Party will be for BJP sooner or later. I do not understand why Mr. LK Advani is keepig quite about Black Money now? He realized that most of the BJP leaders and their supporters are having Black Money! God Save our Motherland.

    According to the data provided by the Swiss bank in 2010, India had more black money than rest of the world combined. India topping the list with almost $1500 Billion black money in Swiss banks, followed by Russia $470 Billion, UK $390 Billion, Ukraine $100 Billion and China with $96 Billion. Where have they disappeared now? How a major chunk of this money have reached back to India as white money through back-doors from Mauritius and other tax havens.
    AAP leader Prashanth Bhushan said that the BJP & PM Narendra Modi were controlled by a mafia which has been created by a generation of corrupt money because of which they were silent about the increase in gas price in the country.
    Our PM should answer the Global Forum on Transparency and Exchange of Information and the Indian public about the re-investment of that huge illicit money as white-money through participatory notes or anonymous investments by banks or other shell companies situated in tax havens. All of this is unfortunately given legal sanction by the domestic laws of our country, which run counter to several provisions of the UN Convention Against Corruption.

    Those politicians through their media outlets are having fun with the public over these serious matters. Actually they are diverting public's attention from very serious matters.
    Actually it is very necessary to enact a law for taking action on any false\made up stories and published to create havoc with the public. It is very unethical of them to publish fabricated news and make the public scapegoats.
    How can Swiss Bank give a list of suspected Black money account holders of Indian nationals!!!??
    Even now this particular announcement from Jaitley will be denied tomorrow as false by Jaitley himself...!!
    Unless you all want to gossip around here, best thing is to wait for official news about everything including Railway fare increase etc.
    Let the present Government do what is required and bring stability to our Nation. If they succeed it is good for all and BJPians can gloat then otherwise the Government is sure to fall and then Congress can take over to bring back stability.

    As per banking law you are not suppose to share the account information of ACCOUNT HOLDER without their consent or an order from the court to do so.In this case since the matter involves between two countries they have to go for International court to bring an order to do so.one more thing if that money belongs to NRI's.there is no hard and fast rule to keep the money to India.

Will now at least BJPians shut their mouth when their team at the top of the list.

    The requests from Indian Government are going officially since 1989 VP Singh's government.

    But.. but,

    Read about Swiss Banking Secrecy Act 1934 which does allow to give information only in the case of Criminal and Terrorism nature of the funds.

    So until that is proved in a court of law against certain persons.. you can rest assured, we will hear only Fairy Tales.

    @ India First, India.... why you wake up last?
    ex-PM MMS put forward his request to Swiss Govt to release list of swiss bank account holders name several times in the past. Such actions will not happen all of a sudden.

    By the way, before confirming report, Dongi Baba was praising FEKU yesterday on this matter!
