Mangalore, Nov 3: The Lourdes Central School, Bijai is holding a day-long quiz competition for ICSE and CBSE schools on Friday, November 3.

Students from 18 Central schools from Dakshina Kannada, Udupi and Shimoga districts are taking part in the competition.

Aptly named 'Quiz Par Excellence', the competition was inaugurated in the morning. After the invocation by students, principal Grace Noronha welcomed the gathering and participants. Correspondent and Bijai parish priest Fr J P Tauro inaugurated the event. Deeti Sahana gave a brief report on the competition.

Fr Tauro gave the presidential message. Henry Mascarenhas proposed a vote of thanks. The preliminary round was held during morning session. Sujatha Sampath of Shri Ram Chits, Parents-Teachers' Association president Pratham Bhandary and Vimla Monteiro were present on the dais.

Valedictory function

The final round of the quiz will be held in the afternoon, which will be followed by the valedictory function and prize distribution. Shri Ram Chits (Karnataka) chief executive Ronald D'Souza and IGP Western Range H S Satyanarayana Rao will be the chief guests.
