Dubai, Nov 22: Enthusiasm filled  the air as more than 150 Parishoners of Shirva, well-wishers and the members of USWAS  gathered around 11:30 noon at  Safa Park(Dubai) on Friday 17th November. It was a pleasant climate with cool breeze. 


USWAS President Denis Gomes welcomed the gathering  and Ex President Sharan D’souza started the event by reciting a small prayer thanking the lord for bringing us together.  Each person present for the picnic was introduced by themselves.


Committee member Francis Machado took the initiative to distribute the  ribbons of four colors  to everyone, thus dividing the crowd into four teams namely Ranjith, Tagore, Bapuji & Sardar.  Charles Quadros, Ronald D’souza, Steven Correa and Ronald Corda selected as the  team leaders of each group .


Oscar Rego, Irene Quadros and Ruby Menezes conducted all the games for adults and children well supported by Sharan D’souza and Rony Correa. To get everybody mingle they  tried wagging a quickie war thus led by a dodge ball as a warm up game.  It was followed by lime in the spoon race.  Games like  throw the ball in the basket, collecting the maximum nos of straws and arranging it, cup pyramid for groups etc.  were played by adults as well as children in the first session.



Irresistible delicious lunch was served by "CANARA RESTAURANT", Karama. Soft drink & cakes were also served  throughout the day to the gathering. During lunch  Fr. Elias (Director of ICYM, Mangalore), Ivan D’souza  and former president of  ICYM, Mangalore  gave a brief visit.  Secretary Manu Menezes extended them a warm welcome on behalf of USWAS.
