USA, Dec 26: The Mangalorean Catholic Association-East Coast, USA (MCA-EC) celebrated their annual 'Christmas Gala 2014' on December 20 at Clarion Inn (Jewel of India) Ballroom in North Brunswick.

Over 435 people from New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland and Connecticut areas gathered together in this celebration. MC's DJ Brian and Kenneth Monterio presided over the event welcoming all attendees. They kept everyone entertained throughout the night with their one liners and giving away spot prizes.

The evening started off with some amazing carol singing by children and adults of MCA-EC ‘Vados’ consisting of several families living in close proximity just like around a parish in Mangalore headed by a Gurkar or Gurkarn. These families within a Vado help each other in times of need and get together at local events. Mr and Mrs Santa marched with the kids and handed out goodies to all the kids.

Several families with children had their family pictures clicked with Santa. Live band PRISM rocked the evening with some scintillating performance that kept all the guests on the dance floor with some foot tapping music. Party Zenith put up a beautiful backdrop and they did a splendid job decorating the venue.

Smitha D’Mello and her kids did a beautiful crib to set the Christmas theme. All the families were given a delicious homemade Kuswar prepared by Rosy D’Souza & Connie D’Souza-Doss. This time we had a supervised kids’ corner and all the kids had good time with arts, painting and crafts.

MCA-EC's president, Roshan D’Mello thanked all attendees, participants, volunteers and was humble in thanking the MCA-EC board and his team consisting of Harry Pinto (VP Finance), Gladson Cardoza (VP Public Relations), Michelle D'Souza (VP Programs), Naveen Sequeira (VP-Regional Coordinator) and Diana Lewis (Newsletter: Editor -in-chief) for their efforts in organizing this event.

With sentiments of profound gratitude to God the association's spiritual director, Fr Augustine Claude addressed the gathering with a message praying to Christ during Christmas followed by grace before meal by Fr Norbert D’Souza.

MCA-EC's most talented singers Saritha Pinto, Merlin Mendonca, Naveen Sequeira, Ernest Fernandes and Monti D’Cunha sang the Konkani songs cheered by all the attendees. Prism band played a Konkani Masala and English numbers late into midnight as couples swayed into each other’s arms to the rhythm of music.

The MCA-EC board unveiled its second souvenir with Newsletter and all sponsor’s message to the association and thanking each sponsors like Golden Era Adult Day Care Center, Make My Trip.com, Babco Foods (Bob and Olivia Vaz), Deen Fashions, Fix it all & MDSF Co ( Victor Pais), Devi Fashion, DTDC( Harry Pinto), Expert Advantage (Simi D’Souza), Michelle Fernandes( Personal contribution ),Moriye Vado ( Group contribution), Groovin' Galaxzee (Gladson Cardoza), Aishwarya Boutique, Mavinkurve & Patel Attorneys, Trip Explorer.com, American Halal Meat, Nayna Bawa (NJ Realty LLC), Nazrana Fashions, Zaika, PSG Contracting LLC, Cosmic Media, DJ Ernie (Ernest D'Souza) Jasmine & Merwyn D'Souza (PA), DJ Richie.
