Deepak Paladka - Tulu industry's emerging actor
With 'Dhand', young and handsome Deepak Paladka, popularly known as "Deepu", will be seen doing a major role for the second time in Tulu movies.
Born in Paladka, near Moodbidri, Deepak has acted in many dramas, radio programmes, comedy reality shows and skits. His comedy acting in Konkani dramas like 'Sangon Mugdhana', 'Kasale Grahachar Saiba', 'Ootre Uzwadle' made him popular among drama lovers. Deepak then auditioned for Tulu movie 'Nirel' and was selected to play the comedy lead role, as a friend of lead hero of the movie Anoop Sagar.
Deepak excelled in his role named "Deepu". People enjoyed his character's over confidence, foolishness, his comic timing, and also "Deepu" as a supporting good friend of the lead hero moved the audience in emotional scenes. "I had only one aim in my life - to come on the big screen. 'Nirel' gave me that opportunity and I will always remain grateful to the team," says Deepak.
Working in Gulf to support family needs and nourishing a passion is a big challenge for any upcoming actor in Gulf. Usually Tulu movies are made in Mangaluru. But luck was with Deepak, as he got his second role when Shodhan Prasad produced his second movie 'Dhand' under Ranjith Bajpe's direction. "When Nirel was released in Mangaluru, I had a word with Arjun Kapikad and shared my desire to work with him, but I never expected it would come true soon," said Deepak. Deepak became "Deepu" again, a friend of the lead role played by Arjun Kapikad. His scenes with Comedy King Kusalda Birse Sandeep Shetty has been much appreciated and enjoyed by the audience.
"An actor's job is not only acting, he should work for the success of the movie too. Deepak works for the success of movie even after his shooting is over. He firmly believes that an actor achieves success only if the movie is successful too," says producer Shodhan Prasad, who also plays a major role in 'Dhand'.
"Knowing Deepak personally helped me to develop "Deepu"s role. I am happy that the role has become a success. I am glad that Deepak is getting offers to play protagonist roles in Tulu movies," says director Ranjith Bajpe.
