Udupi, August 18: The S U Paniyadi Tulu Literary Award 2007 to Kathyayini Kunjibettu for her work “Kabbar Gathale,” here on Wednesday, 15 August.
Veteran politician and journalist M V Kamath presented the S U Paniyadi Tulu literary award, which is instituted by the Tulu Koota and is given annually for outstanding literary works in Tulu language.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Kamath observed that it was necessary to encourage more such works in Tulu, and therefore informed “Tulu is a sweet language. Sarcasm can be better expressed only in Tulu’.
Morever he also exhorted the Tuluvas and stated that it was incumbent upon all Tuluvas to encourage Tulu language and literature.
