Kasargod gets ready to welcome PM Modi on May 8

Kasargod, May 7: Brisk preparations are under way to welcome Prime Minister Narendra Modi to the town for electioneering for the assembly election in the state.

Modi is scheduled to address a convention of BJP workers at the municipal stadium at Vidyanagar in the outskirts of the town at 10.30 am on Sunday May 8. All preparations for this programme are going on in full swing. Dais and other necessary arrangements are being made.

High level vigil has been arranged in view of this visit. Additional police forces from Karnataka and neighbouring states have arrived.

The security team has arrived and undertaken inspection about safety and other arrangements. The special protection group visited the government college ground where the helicopter carrying Modi is scheduled to land, and also the area where his programme is planned. A central team will be arriving in the district today to undertake further inspections.

BJP leaders and activists led by Mangaluru MP Nalin Kumar Kateel are buoyed by the proposed visit of the Prime Minister. They organized processions at different parts of the district to give vent to their enthusiasm. Modi is visiting the district for the first time after becoming the Prime Minister. Therefore, the party activists are planning a grand reception to him on arrival.

    Within two years, there so many developments and schemes for the development of the people. Here are some of developments.
    1) Current GDP is 7.4% compared to 5% during UPA.
    2) FDI is crossed 40 billion dollars compared 22 billion during UPA.
    3) Foreign exchange reserve is life time high of 360 billion compared to 270 billion during UPA.
    4) Jan Dhan yojana is a grand success.
    5) Inflation is below 5% compared to 10% during UPA. The food inflation is below 5%. It consists of basket of food items not just Daal.
    6) BSE sensex is 26,000 compared to 16,000 during the last year of UPA
    7) Interest rate is almost 1.75% lower than the UPA rule. Good for business and consumers.
    8) Quick action during Yemen crisis appreciated world over.
    9) The Bangladesh border issue resolved after decades.
    10) Quick action during the Kashmir flood situation even praised by Omar Abdullah.
    11) Terrorists from Burma are severely dealt with for the first time.
    12) Coal Auction fair and transparent. Power sector operating 100% capacity. During UPA rule power sector starved of coal due to coal scam.
    13) More importantly no scam. During UPA rule I don't want name the scams. This list is too big.
    14) Water trains in Maharastra.
    15) Currency stable compared to most of the world currency against dollar.
