'India Shining' Slogan was a Mistake: Advani

Shimla, Dec 18 (mb) The BJP on Monday admitted that its 'India Shining' slogan used in the run-up to 2004 Lok Sabha elections was a 'mistake'.

"India Shining slogan was a mistake. The better slogan would have been India Rising", Advani, who was Deputy Prime Minister during NDA rule when the slogan was coined, said.

The BJP and the NDA government led by the party had undertaken an aggressive 'India Shining' campaign before the last Lok Sabha polls before being voted out of power.
