Mumbai, Nov 8 (IANS): A large quantity of high intensity explosives were found in a raid at Palghar's Manor area. According to a report by India Today, it was a joint operation of the Mumbai Police and the Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS). The explosives were discovered after a two-day search on October 27.
FSL confirmed that one of the explosives was RDX. The raid was conducted at an abandoned PWD structure, where the explosives were dumped by almost 100 officers.
According to Mumbai Police sources, the decision to conduct the raid was taken after receiving a tip off. They further added that the explosives were stored in a safe spot for a long period of time.
However, the manner in which the raid and seizure was conducted has raised some questions, since no official announcement was made after the activity.
