Mangalorean Lecturer Loses Guinness Record to Andhraite

Times of India

Mangalore, Jan 26: While a Mangalore team is attempting to set a Guinness record, the one set by a Mangalore University lecture has been bettered.

Annaiah Ramesh from department of applied botany, who set a 101-hour record for marathon lecture on March 26, 2006, was eclipsed by Jayasimha Ravirala from Andhra Pradesh during March 24-29, 2007, who did it for 120 hours.

The topic for the lecture by Dr Ramesh was ‘Molecular logic of life’. Annaiah had surpassed 88 hours and four seconds of non-stop teaching achieved by a South African national Musawazi. Jayasimha Ravirala had lectured on ‘Personality development concepts’.

When contacted, Annaiah said he had no immediate plans to attempt breaking the latest record
