Udupi: Stranger comes in car, circulates fake Rs 500 notes

Daijiworld Media Network – Udupi (EP)

Udupi, Oct 7: An unidentified man arrived in a car near Sasthan fish marker on October 6, acted as if he was buying some things, circulated several fake Rs 500 currency notes and cheated people.

The man came at about 9 am in a white car, bought some items in a shop, gave fake notes and got back loose cash. He later went to the fish market, bought fish and gave fake notes to five people. He was in the vicinity for about two hours.

When the traders gave the notes to their customers in the evening, they came to know that those notes were fake. It was discovered that they were colour Xerox copies of the notes. The notes were cut in such a way that it was difficult to suspect.

The man had targeted only women in shops and fish market and cheated them.

The police came to the spot after they received the complaint.

Some of the cameras near the shops were checked to find the suspect. But due to lack of clarity, it was difficult to identify the suspect.

The man had targeted only women in shops and fish market and cheated them. Why discrimination .... Only he made fake with ladies because he knows if does with men and if they come to know they will catch and beat him...... Ladies will see only notes but they will not check or if they find out it is fake than he can escape from them.

Best way to deal with this problem is use of Point of Sales machines, every trader or business house should have this. There will be no cheating, no problem with change, no need to fight for change, no need to handle dirty notes which changed lakhs of hands with too much dirt on it.
Hard currency is very bad & whoever touches the notes should wash their hands first with soap before doing anything.

If you withdraw few 500rupee notes from ATM or from centralised banks and check that green line belived to be the identity of originality will be on diferrent diferent locations. Supsect that even government have many copies of note printing... green line is not in identical place. How a common man can judge which is original & which is fake !!!
Who knows the man came in the white car might not know that he is holding fake notes(??)).

Stupid idea of introducing the Rs.2000/- notes by removing the Rs. 1000/-. From Rs.500/- long jump to Rs. 2000/-. So difficult for traders if a customer purchasing something and gives a Rs. 2000/- note change is a difficult problem. Chaiwala cannot understand.
