Mangaluru: ‘Library Week’ observed at St Agnes PU College

Mangaluru, Oct 25: St Agnes PU College observed ‘Library Week’ with the theme ‘Readers are Leaders’ recently.

Micheal Robert Patrao, former news editor, Deccan Herald, inaugurated the event. He stressed the importance of libraries and their role in moulding the youth. He also highlighted the fact that people who were unable to complete their formal education, still managed to become successful authors, because they chose to put their faith in libraries. He emphasized the importance of reading as a fun and compelling way to help expand vocabulary and minds.

A slew of competitions were organised in connection with Library Week and students enthusiastically participated in them. The goal was to inculcate love for reading and thereby enhance communication and writing skills.

The presence of the principal Sr Shamita, vice-principal Sr Norine, librarian Tessie Menezes, faculty and cabinet members enhanced the success of the event.
