VHP to draw up action plan to build Ram temple by 2018

Bhubaneswar, Nov 10 (IANS): The Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) on Thursday said that it will take every measure to ensure the construction of a grand Ram temple at Ayodhya in Uttar Pradesh by 2018.

The issue will be discussed and an action plan for its implementation would be drawn up, VHP Spokesperson Surendra Jain told reporters here at a press conference.

The VHP, which began the Ramjanmboomi movement for the construction of the Ram temple at Ayodhya in the 1990s, will be holding its three-day Central Managing Committee for the first time in Odisha's capital.

"In this meeting, construction of Ram temple issue will be widely discussed and an action plan for its implementation would be chalked out. Now, there won't be any delay. We will take every step to construct the temple by 2018," he said.

The VHP leader said representatives from all states would participate in the meet which will begin on November 27. Besides, there will be representation from 50 foreign countries.

He said religious conversion, cow protection and jehadi terrorism would be prominent issues discussed.

Accusing the Christian missionaries of conspiring against Hindus, he demanded that the state government make public the report of the Naidu Commission, which probed the murder of Hindu monk Laxmananand Saraswati. "So that people could know who were the culprits in the case."

Jain alleged that despite there being a law against conversion in Odisha, the state government failed to protect Hindus from conversion and condemned it for changing the name of Abhimanyu Samsnt Sinhar road to Mother Teresa road.

Ram is "the embodiment of truth, morality and peace". Keeping his virtues in mind, build his temple without harming anyone now or in the future. As an Indian, I would like Ram's name is above all and in India, no statue should be taller than his.
