Kundapur, Dec 21: An eleven-year old girl, who happens to be a sixth standard student of Kappadi school in Kalthodu village in the taluk, who resides in the backward classes colony of the village, was diagnosed with severe liver malfunction after she suddenly fell ill. Thanks to the efforts of a JD(S) leader from Byndoor, the girl was taken in ambulance from Areshirur, Byndoor by creating a zero traffic corridor to Mangaluru airport from where she was taken in a flight to Bengaluru for emergency treatment at Hebbal hospital. The police department, district’s administrations of the twin districts and other departments ensured that the girl got treatment on time before her condition worsened further.

Anusha Gowda, daughter of Sanjiva Gowda, headmaster in Kappadi School near Kalthodu in Byndoor was found to be suffering from a serious liver disease by the doctor who examined the girl after she fell ill suddenly. She was admitted into Manipal hospital a few days ago. Her treatment needed huge amount. The family of Sanjiva Gowda, being too poor to be able to meet treatment expenses, had got Anusha discharged from the hospital and brought her home. However the girl experienced acute abdominal pain once again. Therefore, Sanjiva Gowda explained about his predicament to his neighbor, district president of Karnataka Karmika Vedike, Ravi Shetty.

Ravi Shetty who heard the sad story of his neighbour, immediately contacted a hospital in Bengaluru and sent the medical records of Anusha to the said hospital through WhatsApp. The hospital sources said that they can treat her if the patient is brought immediately. Ravi Shetty without knowing how to send the girl got in touch with the district administration.

The district administration responded to the request of Ravi Shetty. The administration and the police department arranged zero traffic facility for the girl to reach Mangaluru airport from Areshirur. It took only two hours for the girl to reach the airport. Mangaluru deputy commissioner and additional deputy commissioner, Kumar, had put in place sufficient facilities for Anusha to cover the distance fast without any problem. She was medically examined at the airport andthe medical advice reached Bengaluru immediate. The girl reached Bengaluru in one hour and twenty minutes. She was rushed to Hebbal hospital, Bengaluru again in zero traffic. Everybody hopes that she will fully recover and return to Kalthodu after treatment.

Sanjiva Gowda has three sons and a daughter. The family is poor as he is the only earning member of the family. Yet he never revealed his personal problems to others. However he was compelled to lay bare the facts in front of others on Thursday on account of the problems his daughter is going through, as he was badly in need of urgent help.

Ravi Shetty, a JD(S) leader, said that he had pledged his jewelry and remitted two lac rupees for the treatment the young girl. “The doctors have said that at least Rs 25 lacs will be required for the liver transplant. I express my gratitude to the district administration and the police department for their timely help,” he said.

Zero traffic corridor for ambulance movement should not restricted only one isolated condition but it should be duty of every citizen of India.
Perhaps India is the only nation I had seen vehicles overtaking ambulances asking to clear the road.
I appreciate the local political leader genuine effort helping the patient in need.
I pray to God she will recover soon.

I 100% agree with your view. Indeed it's a humanitarian thing and never political.
My Quote "Congress maintained Karnataka as a people-friendly state" is never intended promoting the party but the fact, it's about just being peaceful compared to the north Indian states.
once again I appreciate your View - thank you for that.

Why did congress came in middle?? It’s the JDS which helped not the MLA OR MP (referring to both CONGRESS AND BJP).
These things are humanitarian thing don’t involve political colour to it.
    Can’t u live without politics??

    @ unknown, M'lore,

It is called FEKUISM..., those who do good don't get the credit...,
Political parties & its followers/mentors now a days realize that unless they play FEKUISM, there is no SUCCESS...,

Now the real problem is competition for FEKUISM...,
While fact remains..., I look forward for your honest response..!!!

The people who do good they don’t take credit. Unlike politicians who become good only during election time. Good people do good not to take credit. They do it for there satisfaction m. If person is doing good to take credit then he won’t be satisfied with that. Main in life is having satisfaction not taking the credit.
Politicians want there name on the paper if any good work is done only for vote sake.
A doctor who saves a life or a lawyer who gives justice to the people etc ..these ppl won’t take credit they take satisfaction from what they do.
