Bangalore, Aug 29: A badminton legend's elder daughter is already a sought after film and modelling personality. Now his younger daughter is all set to carve out a niche for herself in an entirely different pursuit. Surely there can be prizes for guessing! Well, nine out of ten might be wrong. For the answer is golf.

It's the Prakash Padukone family we are talking about. The first Indian to win the All-England badminton title, Prakash was the national champion for nine years in a row and has several other exploits to his credit.

His elder daughter, Deepika is taking Bollywood by storm.  But has anyone heard of Anisha Padukone? Well, you will surely sooner than later. For Anisha has already set her sights on a career in golf. The 17-year-old II PUC student of Mount Carmel College in Bangalore is playing in the silver division of the ladies tournament in Chennai. And her ever-smiling and obliging Dad is all excited about his daughter's plans.

“We admitted her to the Vidya Shilp Academy as they encourage sports. She has always been very interested in sports right from her school days. In fact, she has played hockey, basketball for Beagles and cricket for her school and also for clubs. She was in the state girls cricket team too. But somewhere down the line, she became interested in golf,'' revealed Prakash.

“She practises at the Bunty Randhawa golf camp in Bangalore Gold Club and the Eagleton Golf Course and is being coached by Divecha.

“This is just her second year on the circuit and after she becomes more experienced she intends to go to the US and pursue a golf career,'' Prakash said.
