Mangaluru, Nov 1: "We the children of Kannadambe are blessed. It is the duty and responsibility of every Kannadiga to recognize and respect the rich art and culture of this land. The fragrance of the mud of this land is giving its goodness to all the Kannadigas. We are living a good life by consuming the crop that is grown in the land of this state. The protection of our land, language and water resources is the fundamental right of everyone. The land of Kannada is like a boon that is given to every Kanndiga, which nourishes each and everyone of us," said Fr Robert D'Souza, prinicpal of Lourdes Central School, Bejai in the city on Thursday, November 1.
Fr Robert was speaking on the occasion of 'Kannada Rajyostva' that was held at the school campus.
The students of the institution sang a prayer song at the beginning of the programme. Singing and monoacting was displayed by students who had secured first prize in the respective categories. Certificates were issued to the winners of singing, monoacting and social science exhibition. The students also presented 'Veeragase' and 'Janapada' dances.
Belita Mascarenhas, vice-principal was present on the dais. The programme was organized by teachers of the school like Ratnakar S Acharya, Noileen Pais, Rekha Naveen, Sowmya and Deepika. Ivan Mascarenhas, Nandini and Vivita D'Souza extended their cooperation. The programme was compered by Aradhana and Kamya, students of the school. Chandana explained the importance of Rajyostava. Sushant Rashree rendered the vote of thanks.
