Mangalore: Dr A Subrahmanyeshwar Rao to be New Superintendent of Police of DK

Mangalore: Dr Subrahmanyeshwar Rao to be New Superintendent of Police of DK

Daijiworld Media Network - Mangalore (SP)

Mangalore, Feb 26: Dakshina Kannada superintendent of police (SP) N Satheesh Kumar has been transferred to Bidar district.  His Bidar counterpart, Dr A Subrahmanyeshwar Rao, will be replacing him

Satheesh Kumar had taken over as the SP of the district from the outgoing SP B Dayananda, who is presently working as the deputy inspector general of police (intelligence) in Bangalore, on January 25, 2007.

Satheesh Kumar                      Dr A S Rao

It may be recalled that Dr Subrahmanyeshwar had functioned as the additional superintendent of police of Puttur division till recently, before he was appointed as the SP of Udupi from where he was then transferred to Bidar. He is expected to take charge later this week.

23 Sub-inspectors, 18 Circle Inspectors Transferred

Twenty-three sub-inspectors of police and 18 circle inspectors from the Western Range have been handed transfer orders ahead of the Lok Sabha elections.

Pointing out that the transfers are part of a similar exercise being carried out across the country, Deputy Inspector-General of Police, Western Range, Gopal B. Hosur clarified on Wednesday that the present change of guard had nothing to do with recommendations of the Karnataka State Human Rights Commission, which had sought a reshuffle of police officials after attacks on churches in the district and again after the attack on a pub in the city.

Mr. Hosur told The Hindu that Election Commission’s guidelines had prompted the transfers. According to the guidelines, no official of the rank of sub-inspector should serve in his/her Assembly constituency and circle inspectors and deputy superintendents of police should not serve in their native districts.

Officials whose action the Election Commission had taken note of during the past three elections were being transferred, he added.

Five circle inspectors (CI) have been transferred from Dakshina Kannada. Panambur CI Chandrashekar K. will be replaced by Valentine D’Souza, Mangalore East CI. Ganapathy M.K. will be replaced by Niranjana Raje Urs, Belthngady CI. Gangi Reddy will be replaced by Yeshwanth Mallya, Mangalore South CI. Thilakchandra Kojpade will be replaced by Nagarodda Mukri, and Mulky CI Parameshwara Hegde will be replaced by Shivaprakash Nayak. Six sub-inspectors have been transferred from the district.

All Comments are good or some are too touchy!!!  Yes , daijiworld has given us this great opportunity to voice our concerns and hopes. But are these comments read my the concerned people ? I wonder . Simply writing comments to each other does not work. Take for example the comments written on SP Satheesh Kumar or some other official, will they be ever read by them ?  I request the editor of this forum to ensure that these comments are forwarded to the concerned persons. Then perhaps we could expect a change for the better.

Good bye to Mr. Sateesh Kumar and welcome to Dr. Rao. Hope all the police officers understand that their salary comes from tax payer’s money and they work for a democratic country. God give them strength to remember that they are wearing their uniform under oath and give them courage not to abuse their position in any circumstances. God help them to discharge their duties as written in our constitution.

To make us happy and to protect their seat, the High Command always shift and transfer the police force time to time. From this we can understand that "Those who don`t know how to dance, they say the ground is not level and can`t dance. This transfer is very common especially in Karnataka not in any other state of India.

This man is gone, he has behaved against humanity. He is the one who beat women and girls mercilessly. There are pictures of this mans atrocities. He will never rest in peace. My be he followed his political leaders orders. Is is IAS, IPS? I doubt very much. If he is, it is through some kind of influence.

He is a classic example of " Beli Hola Meyithu". Next he reaches only Bidar. What about the scars he created? Will Home Minister explain about the sins this SP committed against humanity by entering church and beating them mercilessly? There are a few supporters for him. Such people will never get shelter any where in this universe!

Whatever happen to the others is not your concern. Please understand, the people of Mangalore are not mad. You can express your opinion in this blog only why? because any body can understand no need to explain. Mr. Lancy, please dont teach lesson here to anybody. All are learnt people here. I personally feel SP) N Satheesh Kumar was a up right gentleman & a good Cop. The job that he headed, is damned if he does & damned if he does not. However in my view It is easy to criticize but if one is in that position, it is a very difficult decision," under certain conditions, to deal or not with the above comments that have been made.

He directs his staff for sure, but it is his men who act, & a few mistakes committed may not have been directed by him at all. He was a upright person in my experience. He has solved a lot of cases under his leadership. Let us thank him for his good service to Mangalore community. Let us also now Welcome the New SP. A. Ms.Pratima. Be cool. In democracy government is by the people,. of the people and for the people. The ministers, MPs, MLAs and government officials are servants of the people. People are the Masters. Thats what our Constitution says. They have to protect the public in general and not one section of the people. Problem is servants turned masters and the masters as servant. That is the sorry state of our democracy.

Thanks Daijiworld! You couldn't have given your readers better news than this. With due respect to Mr. Satish Kumar, I can boldly say that D.K. had not come across a more ruthless person like him. He has  led from the front in breaking open the doors of churches and beating innocent people black and blue. No SP in the history of D.K. has ever done such a shameful thing. The footage in all the local TV channels bear testimony to this. There is a saying "Forgive and Forget'. But the peace loving people of Mangalore will never forgive him for his crimes and never forget his merciless actions. It is not easy to give his dreadful deeds a solemn burial. Only God can forgive him.

Refrain from making personal comments/derogatory comments etc. Refer to recent Supreme Court verdict, the comments made on the blog, the person may be held accountable. Overall I am very saddened by the state of affairs happening in our Mangalore for the last few months and not seeing any end to that. I saw the interview of Mr. Sateesh on NDTV and his open submission of inaction due to communal unrest, it was bit too much for us to digest. Moreover twin districts are home turf of Karnataka Home Minister, and police force comes under the Home Ministry. Anyhow all the best Mr. Sateesh in your new assignment and better sense will prevail on you. Welcome Dr. Rao to Mangalore and hope under your able leadership Mangalore will limp back to its earlier glory of land of peaceful and intellectual people.

Without provocation, you brutally lathy charged our nuns, women and youngsters who defended their holy places against vandals. You mutilated our religious sentiments by sacrilege of our divine symbols. All our pain upon you lest you seek forgiveness from God and from peace loving and forgiving people, perhaps you will be forgiven but not forgotten wounds are still not bandaged.

Mr.Micheal Lobo, Way are you targeting Brahmin community? Has any Brahmin community illegally occupied your private property or trying to convert your family member? Your Party Dynamic Leader the late Jawaharlal Nehru also belonged to Brahmin community???

Mr. Lobo, This is a regular transfer process before Election. You are acting like a regular opposition party leader like Vatal Nagaraj??? Vatal protesting only publicity. He has not seriously taken any point of view.

Hope you will do your best to bring back the faith we lost with Police Force & make Mangalore peaceful city once again.

Satish did enough damage to Mangalore - we are in shame today. Unprecedented events happened in Mangalore with the active support of BJP goverment and the District Police and administration. One more Brahmin SP coming to strenghen the Sangh PArivar roots. All the best.

Had this communally inclined SP transferred before much of acrobatics could not have hooked / cooked up in Mangalore. A bitter message to you "all minorities are also the citizens of India". Be fair to yourself ! End of the day you are not "Jai Ho" !!

'good Riddance to bad rubbish'at last the good for nothing cop has been transferred, in all interviews he has given to date, all he talks about is goonda act,a certain community of people do have suffered a lot due to his partial stand and loyalness to certain group in mangalore, but truth always wins, I do hope and pray that the new sp does full justice to the judiciary system in mangalore. 'All the best'
