Kannur: CPM MP Abdullakutty Expelled for Praising Modi

CPM MP Abdullakutty expelled for praising Modi

Press Trust of India

KANNUR, Mar 7: CPM MP from Kannur A P Abullakutty, who had praised Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi's development model, was on Saturday expelled from
the party on the charge of breach of discipline by "joining class enemies".

The action against the two-time Lok Sabha member was taken by CPM's Kannur district committee which accused him of repeated breach of discipline by joining the "class enemies", party sources said.

The 44-year-old MP had embarrassed CPM by stating that the efforts of Modi to bring development to his state were worthy of emulation, even as he did not agree with his "anti-minority" approach.

The move came a day after the suspended Lok Sabha member said he had 'technically ceased' to be a party member as he had not renewed his membership and could decide the future step on his own.

He was suspended from the party membership for one year on January 17 after the district committee found his reply "unsatisfactory" to the explanation sought from him about his remarks praising Modi's development model.

CPM found that by his "anti-party" comments Abudllakutty had "forfeited" his last chance to "correct the mistake" and remain in the party, the sources said.

I fully support Mr. Kutty on this issue. For the information of everybody, Narendra Modi won last year assembly elections despite all the negative publicity because of the development. If the readers' comments are to be followed, Congress must be banned from Punjab and Delhi for the 1984 killings.Come on, let us appreciate the good work done by politicians, which is a rare thing now a days. It may be interesting to you people to know that, my father, a common man and a BJP follower, used to vote for Mr. C T Ahmed Ali of Muslim league in Kasaragod, just because, Mr. Ali did a lot of development works in our area. At the same time he was voting to BJP for parliament election.

In my opinion Citizens do not need developments by dividing and ruling. Modi is similar brand and he has lot of vengeance against other communities. His ideology and love is only for one community not for all. People fall prey for his rhetoric. There were vulnerable developments in Gujarat in the year 1980’s also.

It is not his party's opinion. His personal opinion should be respected by every one. If a party does not value one's personal opinions and suggestions, that party is against the Indian Constitution which gives its citizens freedom of speech. Mr Kutty do not join a party which does not respect your personal opinion. Have some self respect and quit politics altogether. There are other ways to serve your community and the nation.

See Mr. Abdullakutty….you praise Modi or not.. Nothing makes difference to anyone. But, it will make difference to you when they knock your door how they knocked to Mr. Ehsan Jaffery in Gujrat.. Don’t become mad with Modi just for some biscuits.
