Kundapur: Moodlakatte Institute of Technology celebrates Engineers’ Day

Kundapur, Sep 27: Moodlakatte Institute of Technology (MIT), Kundapura celebrated Engineers’ Day marking the birth day of Sir Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya, recognizing his contributions in the field of hydel energy in India.

On this occasion Dinesh Karnik, managing director, ‘Prueba India’ was present as chief guest. Dr G S Kataiah (Principal of MITK) and Dr Chandra Rao Madane (Accademic Director) were also present on this occasion. As a token of love and gratitude, Sir MV’s statue in the premises of college was garlanded by the dignitaries.



In inauguration, top 15 projects from Civil, CS, EC, EEE and ME were displayed. In his speech, Dinesh Karnik has asked the students to identify their strength and weakness and advised to improve their skills by doing extra certificate courses and to excel themselves to be placed in corporate world. Chandra Rao Madane in his speech asked the students to be Entrepreneurs citing Visvesvaraya’s quote: ‘Indusrtialize or Perish’ Dr G S Kataiah, principal remembered the achievements of Sir M Visvesvaraya in his speech and wished the students to have vision as him.

A textbook on Mathematics for engineering students, written by MITK faculty assistant professor Bhagyalakshmi Adiga was released by the dignitaries and HODs of various departments. Bhagyalakshimi Adiga was felicitated on this occasion for her remarkable achievement. Chethana of final year EC compered the programme. Vignesh of final year Civil, welcomed the gathering and Shahsikala, HOD, departmnet of Civil Engineering rendered the vote of thanks.
