Kundapur: Teenager Dies After Mistakenly Consuming Insecticide

Kundapur, Sep 21: A teenager from a village in the taluk tragically died on the night of Saturday September 19, after he consumed an insecticide, thinking it to be his medicine.

Reportedly, Raghavendra Kharvi (18), a resident of Koderi in Kirimanjeshwar village in the taluk, consumed insecticide by oversight. Kharvi was suffering from fever and stomach ache, and had brought medicines from a local medical practitioner. In the evening, he is said to have consumed an insecticide meant for rats and cockroaches, instead of his medicine, as both the bottles looked similar. He fell extremely ill and breathed his last at night.
