Bengaluru, Jun 2: Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa, who held a review meeting with Deputy Commissioners and Superintendents of Police of seven districts including coastal Udupi, has asked the DCs, SPs and Chief Executive Officers of Zilla panchayats to regularly visit and stay in taluks coming under their jurisdictions for holding periodic monitoring of the COVID 19 control measures.

The Chief Minister held the review with the DCs, SPs and CEOs of Kalaburagi, Vijayapura, Yadgir, Raichuru, Belagavi, Bidar and Udupi districts through video conferencing from Bengaluru on Tuesday asked the revenue and police administrations in the districts following the lockdown relaxations already announced with effect from June 8, particularly with regard to temples and all other places of worship, malls etc.

The district administration, especially in the border districts, must be very alert in view of the arrival of the migrants from Maharashtra, which is one of the worst Corona affected states in the country.

“Steps must be taken to ensure that the people arriving from other states must be directed to undergo home quarantine in order to prevent the spread of the Corona infection,’’ he said asking the top bureaucrats in the districts to be extra cautious and vigilant in enforcing the guidelines announced by the Centre.

The Chief Minister asked the officials to ensure that the supply of the COVID 19 test kits must be ensured without any interruption and those undergoing home quarantine must not be allowed to flout the norms.

Police security must be provided near the residences of the people undergoing home quarantine, the Chief Minister said directing the district administrations to constitute task forces in all gram panchayats with the GP members to be entrusted to ensure that the norms were followed strictly.

There should be regular mechanism to receive and monitor reports from the GPs and even from the booth levels on a daily basis, the Chief Minister said.

Yediyurappa asked the district administrations to ensure that task forces must be set up in all GP and towns from the ward level itself and also ensure that FIRs were filed in case of any violation of the home quarantine restrictions.

The Chief Minister directed that the bodies of the deceased persons from outside the States must not be allowed to be brought into the State under any circumstances.

With the SSLC/PUC examinations scheduled commence, the Chief Minister instructed the officials to take all necessary precautions to ensure the smooth conduct of the examinations.

Home Minister Basavaraj Bommai, Revenue Minister R Ashok, Chief Secretary T M Vijaya Bhaskar, Development Commissioner Vandita Sharma, DGP Praveen Sood, Health and Family Welfare Department Principal Secretary Javed Akhtar and Secretary Pankaj Kumar Pandey participated in the review meeting.

Also please send District In charge minister's to their respective districts than sitting in Bangalore. It's been a while we saw Basavaraj Bommai in Udupi. If i'm not wrong he visited once here during this complete lockdown period. What is the use of such posts then? DC, MLA's alone cannot handle everything!!!! Look at how Kota Srinivasa Poojary is handling the situation in Dakshina Kannada. He is always available for people during this tough time. We appreciate such leaders.

Bhandar Sir......whats going on? For them nothing. They just want to increase their bhandar of money. Education minister must be owning schools/colleges. So every alternate day he appears by saying exam exam, results, admission. And our chief minister opened everything... means he wants to contribute more prasadam towards the health of his citizen. Or according to Rudolph shall we say we try to achieve "Herd Immunity" ? Whatever.....
