Udupi: Three men detained in district over consumption of ganja

Udupi, Sep 22: Police personnel in the district on September 19 booked cases against three different suspects at various locations in the district over consumption of ganja. All of them are produced in the forensic department of KMC Manipal who confirmed that the three suspects had indeed consumed the drug.

The suspects who are detained are Stanley Sandeep (29), resident of Kukkikatte, Badagubettu village, Udupi who was detained while being intoxicated by ganja near Kukkikatte mosque. He was detained by the police circle inspector Manjunath while on rounds. A case in Udupi city police station under crime no 87/2020 and section 27(B) NDPS Act is registered against the suspect.

The second suspect who was detained was Dhanush Kunder(18), resident of Badagubettu village, Udupi who was booked for the consumption of ganja near Hanuman garage, Badagubettu village. He was detained by Saktivelu, police sub-inspector, Udupi city police station while he was on rounds. A case in Udupi city police station under crime no 88/2020 section 27(B) NDPS Act is registered against the suspect.

The third suspect who was detained was Srajan Sudhaker Palan (18), resident of Mooduthonse, Needamballi, Kalyanpur, who was found to have consumed ganja in front of Kote gram panchayat office. He was detained by Rajashekar B Saganoor, police sub-inspector, Kaup police station. A case in Kaup police station under crime no 106/2020 section 27(b) NDPS Act is registered against the suspect.
