Dubai: Udyavarites Celebrate Ten Years of Togetherness with Elan

Dubai, Dec 3: It was a memorable day for the parishioners of Udyavar, Udupi district, spread across UAE as they celebrated 10 glorious years of togetherness in UAE at the Karama Hotel here on December 3
Formed in the year 2001 under the able leadership of Jerald Pereira, the association has grown over the years with the committment and dedication of the members of the association.
The event began around 12.30 pm with well-known compere Roshan D'Silva from UAE taking charge of the proceedings.
Josita and Annora presented a dance followed by another dance performance by little kids Andrea, Annora, Danica, Samantha and Betina.
President of the association Vivian D'Silva welcomed the gathering and thanked the people who helped the association grow over the last 10 years, and announced that the association will come up with more plans to serve the community in the near future.
Secretary Joachim presented a brief report about the achievements of the Udayarites, specially about the charity work undertaken by the association to the tune of over Rs 25 lac in the last ten years.
Compere Roshan D'Silva kept the audience busy with games, spot prizes and humour.
Popular Goan troupe led by noted singer Maria performed some of the foot-tapping Goan as well as Mangalorean numbers to keep the audience fully charged throughout the programme.
The highlight of the event was 'Mog Kela Thir Bhe Kityak,' a comedy drama written and directed by Robert Fernandes. The comedy was well-liked by the audience, given the superb performances by the cast.
Earlier, founder-president of the association Jerald Pereira was given a special honour by the committee members for his dedication and sacrifices for the welfare of the association.
The event came to an end with games like housie-housie, raffle draw and baila songs.
