Former Chief Editor of Taranga Santhosh Kumar Gulwadi Passes Away

Mangalore, Dec 7: Santhosh Kumar Gulwadi, well-known writer and former editor of popular Kannada periodical magazine 'Taranga' passed away here on Tuesday December 7 after suffering a cardiac arrest. He was 72.
He was the first chief editor of Taranga and continued in the post up till 1996. He is considered the main force behind the magazine's success. With his innovative journalism, he was able to win the hearts of his readers and create a niche for himself and for the weekly.

He was honoured with the Alva's Nudisiri 2010 Award last month for his contributions to the field of journalism. He had been the recepient of several other awards.
Among the many works by him are 'Tata Tingan,' a compilation of Konkani lullabies and 'Nanjunda Siri' a bilingual commemorative souvenir, felicitating M S Nanjunda Rao, edited by Gulwadi.
He also published a book of Konkani poetry and several books for children.
